- This is basiclly a minor update, the ICSP Help File is working now, or at least it's suppose to be. It worked for me.
- In the Computer Science section, I have my Thrill Ride up. Yay!!!!
Article of the Week: The Internet
There are many new inventions that have appeared in my lifetime that I find very useful and fun. The invention that I wouldn’t be able to live without is the Internet. I could stay on the Internet for hours, whether it’s for homework or for my own entertainment.
The Internet impacts a lot of what I do in life. There isn’t one day that goes by without me using the Internet (unless the server is down L or I’m on vacationJ). For homework, it makes research easier, especially if it’s a really challenging and specific topic that I need to find information on. Also, during school I have a computer class where my teacher has his own website. On his website he posts our homework and when it’s due. If the Internet is down, I might forget something that I had to do for that class.
Another reason why the Internet is important to me is that the Internet helps me keep in touch with my friends. I can either e-mail them if I wanted to say something casual, or I can IM them if I needed to talk to them directly. This is how I keep in touch with my friends that I don’t see every day.
The last important reason as to why I need the Internet is for my own entertainment. Whenever I’m bored, I take out my laptop, flop down on the couch and entertain myself on the web. Time flies by so fast that if I feel I’ve been only on the Internet for only thirty minutes, the actual time I’ve been on it is three hours! The type of websites I normally play on are either dress-up games or watching music videos.
The Internet impacts me a lot on so many different levels. The Internet also reveals a lot about who I am and what I do. It reveals that I like to make my life easier when it comes to researching. This means that I don’t like to go out and look through books to find my information. This also reveals that I like to communicate with my friends, including the ones that I hardly see. By doing this, it shows that I really care about my friends even though I barely see them. I like to check up on them every once in a while.
There have been many new inventions that were created during my lifetime. But, the invention that I use the most is the Internet, whether it’s for school or just to keep myself busy. Life without the Internet would be very hard for me, as well as less entertaining.
